What a beautiful, warm, sunny day we had at Oktoberfest this year! Chuck Nelson, owner and operator of Looking Glass Gardens, made an excellent decision to move the date up a weekend, which resulted in fantastic weather. The community truly came out in droves. While it's always hard to get an exact count due to the spread-out location, the food truck sold out of hot dogs and bratwurst, a great sign of the turnout.

People filled the lawn as they enjoyed the live band playing traditional German music. The pavilion bustled with families engaged in craft activities all afternoon. Rose was kept very busy at the barn giving pony rides. Additionally, Jake Blass provided scenic hourly hayrides throughout the gardens and along Dodd Road, and Fire Chief Grillo brought a fire truck down for the kids to explore.

The Sandisfield Recreation Committee and Looking Glass Gardens extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful day. We are already looking forward to next year's event!
